Join our weekly Men's Support Group virtually on Wednesdays at noon
Open to men age 18 and older
Due to the persistent stigmatization of therapy, many men fail to seek therapeutic help when they are struggling in life. This results in decreased mental health amongst men, as seen in their disproportionate suicidality. Many men fail to see the value of talk therapy and are more interested in modalities focused on problem-solving and immediacy. The unwillingness to seek one-on-one therapy often leads men to use their partners for emotional unpacking, resulting in diminished relationship satisfaction, or to seek unreliable guidance from internet forums. Unlike individual therapy, a group setting allows for multiple voices and collaboration in real time.
This support group provides a non-judgmental and solutions-based environment in which men can help each other achieve improved well-being together. The goal of this group is to destigmatize therapy and bolster male mental health. The ideal group member is any male looking for objective and non-judgmental support while also willing to provide the same to others.
This group will focus on a variety of topics, including:
Deciphering Emotions
Finding a Purpose
Emotional Regulation
Making your Time Valuable
Dealing with Burnout
Romantic Relationships
Male loneliness
Time: Weekly at 12 PM EST on Wednesdays for 75 minutes
Location: Virtual, via Zoom
Cost: $15 per session
Participants will be able to:
Receive third-party advice and guidance from their male peers
Understand the role of emotions and beliefs in mental well-being
Learn skills to improve emotional regulation
Set realistic goals and be held accountable for achieving them
Improve relationship and marital satisfaction
Unburden themselves of pent-up feelings
Normalize and destigmatize male problems
Build a community of supportive and helpful individuals
