Adult Neurodivergent Support Group

Navigating a world designed for neurotypical brains is exhausting when you're wired differently. It’s the fatigue of constant masking just to fit in. The deep, nagging fear that you are just "lazy" or broken. The frustration of knowing exactly what you need to do, but feeling physically unable to start. And the burnout from trying twice as hard just to keep up. Standard advice often fails because it ignores how your nervous system actually works. If you are tired of trying to force your brain into a "normal" box, you aren’t alone.

I grew up in rural Maryland and have been living in the DC area since 2018. Tim, Student Therapist

I’m Tim Burdette, a Maryland Native and student therapist completing my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Hood College.  I bring a nature-informed perspective into my clinical work, recognizing how time, space, and environment can support emotional regulation, clarity, and focus, especially for those who experience executive functioning challenges. I center my approach in noticing how slowing down, reconnecting with the present moment allows us to work with rather than against our nervous systems to create meaningful change. This shows up in my self-care priorities of yoga practice and frequent hikes to embrace nature as a co-therapist. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help facilitate this group and hold a space that feels thoughtful, supportive, and welcoming of diverse ways of thinking and being.
