Meet Your Facilitators!

Lyra Tomljanovich

Lyra is a mental health counseling masters’ student at George Washington University, and she is planning on graduating in the spring of 2025. She graduated from Boston University in 2022 with a BA in Psychology and Womens’ Studies, changing majors five times while she was there, and is no stranger to uncertainty and stress post-college.

She understands, both from her own experience and individually counseling college students, that it is difficult to transition from being a part of a college community to the true independence of adulthood. Since jumping directly into a masters’ degree after college, she has learned (and is still learning!), through trial and error and education, how to navigate being an adult in today’s world, and is eager to share her perspective and understanding with the group.

Bridget Sorensen

Bridget is a third-year graduate student, pursuing her masters in clinical mental health counseling from George Washington University with plans to graduate in May 2025. She graduated from the University of Utah in 2021 with a BS in Psychology and Sociology. Bridget worked full-time as a professional in a residential treatment center before moving across the country to pursue her graduate degree.

Through these experiences, she navigated the complexities of transitioning to adulthood, including balancing academic and professional demands, relocating to a new city, and adapting to new environments. She has developed a deep understanding of the challenges that young adults face, equipping her with the skills to support and prepare others for the upcoming transitions in their own lives.
