Katheryn Najarro, Student Therapist
About Me
Katheryn is currently accepting new clients
My name is Katheryn Najarro. As a Latina, born and raised in the US, and current graduate student and counseling intern, my number one goal is to make sure my clients are seen. By using evidence-based approaches and listening to my clients' concerns, I make plans tailored to them. A major rule in the counseling world is, “do no harm.” The relationship between client and therapist is important to me. Navigating cultural expectations, managing anxiety, setting boundaries with family, or healing from childhood experiences can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to go through it alone.Coming together, especially with the current state of the world, is more important than ever.
Modalities that I use include Existential Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am flexible and use an integrative approach. I also incorporate mindfulness, inner child work, and psychoeducation to help clients develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, and self-compassion.
I have experience working with clients affected by anxiety, adhd, depression, children of narcissistic or emotionally immature mothers, children on the spectrum, traumatized individuals, stress management, boundaries, anxious attachment, and emotional regulation skills. Growing up as a Latina in a single, low-income household shaped my understanding of resilience, cultural identity, and the importance of compassionate care. I bring that perspective into my practice, offering a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their stories and work toward meaningful change."
