Student Therapist

About Me

Delaney Ford is a second-year student at Hood College, majoring in Clinical Psychology in the Mental Health track. She is currently serving as a student intern, where she is beginning to support clients in developing healthier emotional and interpersonal patterns.

Delaney is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently, which allows her to connect with a broader range of clients. She is especially interested in working with adults, adolescents, couples and families, as well as individuals navigating women’s health concerns, managing stress, and coping with experiences related to grief and loss. Her previous experience includes working with students in an elementary school setting, where she developed strong communication and relationship-building skills. She has also explored key psychological frameworks such as attachment theory and emotion-focused therapy, with a focus on understanding early attachments, family dynamics and how to strengthen couple relationships.

Delaney is known for her empathetic approach and her ability to build trust with others. She values creating a

supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. She is especially passionate about advocating for individuals who face barriers to achieving their goals, particularly those from minority and underserved communities. As the daughter of immigrant parents from Panama, she brings cultural awareness and sensitivity to her work with clients from diverse backgrounds. In her free time, Delaney enjoys writing, staying active at the gym, taking walks outdoors, exploring new restaurants, and prioritizing self-care.

Delaney is able to see clients located in Maryland and the District of Columbia under the supervision of Minahil Meher
