About Me

My name is Mia Goldberg, and I am currently completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University.

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who may look like they are managing on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain underneath. You may be struggling with self-esteem, relationships, identity, a major life transition, or questions about who you are and who you want to become. Maybe you find yourself overthinking, repeating patterns you want to change, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and explore what has shaped you while helping you build a life and relationships that feel more authentic and fulfilling.

I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can be fully yourself, with warmth, humor, and honesty along the way. I am accepting, but also direct and willing to challenge you when it supports your growth. Drawing from person-centered, existential, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches, we will explore what keeps you stuck, identify what matters most to you, and work toward turning insight into meaningful action.

Outside of counseling, you can usually find me taking a long walk while debriefing life with friends, at a stand-up comedy show, or binge-watching the newest Prime Video series. Happiness to me is the movie theater experience, jamming to music in the car, laughing with friends, clear-water beaches, and ending every dinner with a sweet treat (preferably froyo).

I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of creating meaningful change. My goal is to build a genuine human connection where you feel seen, accepted, and comfortable being yourself. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions. Finding the right therapist matters, so I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to connect and see if we are a good fit.
