Student Therapist
About Me
Living life can be a lonely experience. Maybe you yearn for connection but find it difficult to
know how to relate authentically to other people. Or you feel frustrated and exhausted by seeing the same relationship patterns repeated over and over. Or you want to understand yourself and how the past affects you today. I hope my therapy room can be a safe space, and we will work well together if you thrive on personal exploration, encouragement, and meaningful questions.
I am a student therapist completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
from George Washington University. My clinical approach is person-centered and trauma-
informed, using Emotions-Focused Therapy (EFT) and other evidence-based approaches to meet every client’s needs with empathy and curiosity. I have experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing distress about family, relationships, work, identity, sexuality, and life transitions. Outside of therapy, you can find me watching movies, reading, playing chess, or playing basketball.
Starting therapy is a big step and can feel anxiety-provoking, especially when there are so many options out there. If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to reach out for a free fifteen-minute phone consultation to talk about getting started. I hope to hear from you soon!
John provides services in Maryland, Washington, D.C, and Virginia under the supervision of Cynthia Wang.
